Multi-disciplinary technologist, lifelong learner

I'm Zaglul Hyder — a technical professional whose career doesn't follow a single straight line, and that's exactly the point. Over 25+ years I've worked across software engineering and QA, IT infrastructure, property and facilities operations, electrical power systems, civil construction, and manufacturing. Each transition added a new lens for solving problems, and today that breadth feeds directly into how I approach AI/ML and full-stack engineering work.

I hold an MBA in Management Information Systems and a Google Data Analytics certification, and I'm continuously building hands-on skill in Python, machine learning fundamentals, and cloud infrastructure on AWS. What ties it all together is a habit of mastering new domains quickly and translating that knowledge into practical, working systems — not just theory.

I'm based in Martin, Tennessee, and open to AI/ML engineering, full-stack development, technical leadership, and DevOps opportunities where cross-domain thinking is an asset rather than a liability.

Core Competencies

  • Software Engineering & Test Automation (Java, Python, Selenium, SDET)
  • Databases & Cloud Infrastructure (SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, AWS)
  • AI/ML Fundamentals & Data Analysis
  • Operations & Team Leadership
  • Systems Integration (Building Management, Security, Access Control)

Philosophy & Approach

Solve the real problem before reaching for the tool. Decades outside pure software taught me that the best technical decisions come from understanding the operational context first — then bringing rigorous engineering discipline to execute cleanly and iterate fast.

Professional Journey

QA Engineer / SDET

Software & Test Automation

Building automated test frameworks and embedding quality practices earlier into the development lifecycle.

2014 — 2019

IT Systems / Database Administrator

Infrastructure & Cloud

Administered Oracle/PostgreSQL databases and began hands-on AWS cloud migration work.

2008 — 2014

General Manager — Property & Facilities Operations

Operations Leadership

Directed operations across property management, security systems, and building management integration.

2001 — 2008

Project Coordinator — Civil & Electrical Power Systems

Engineering & Construction

Coordinated construction and power systems projects across contractors and stakeholders.

1999 — 2001

Manufacturing Engineer (CNC / CAD)

Manufacturing

Designed and machined precision components — the foundation of a career-long engineering mindset.

Personal Interests

Outside of technical work, I stay engaged with continuous learning (currently deepening my AI/ML and cloud skill set), community involvement, and mentoring others navigating career transitions of their own.
